The Ribo Center attaches great importance to providing equal service to the whole public, and works to make its website accessible to people with disabilities, out of a belief that every person is entitled to live with dignity, equality and independence.
Level of accessibility
This site was built in accordance with Israel's Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments to Services), 5773-2013, and with Israeli Standard IS 5568 for web content accessibility at level AA, which is based on the international WCAG guidelines.
What has been done
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clear and visible focus indicator.
- A "skip to content" link at the top of every page.
- A hierarchical, semantic heading structure that allows orientation with screen readers.
- Alternative text for every meaningful image on the site.
- Declared page language and writing direction, for correct reading by screen readers.
- Colour contrast meeting the standard's level AA requirements between text and background.
- Respect for the system's reduced-motion preference (prefers-reduced-motion): anyone who has set it on their device receives the site without animation.
- Responsive design adapted to a range of screens and devices.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, there may be components or content on the site that are not yet fully accessible. In particular, we are aware that embedded third-party content - the journal subscription form (Substack), the podcast videos (YouTube) and the payment page for the book - is displayed on the site but is not under our control, and its level of accessibility is determined by its operators. If you encounter difficulty with any of them, contact us and we will help you complete the action by an alternative route.
The site has not yet undergone an accessibility audit by a certified accessibility consultant. We are working to arrange one, and this statement will be updated in line with its findings.
